Trends in Basic Needs in Franklin County

This dashboard shows changes over time for the social determinants of health in Franklin County. Social determinants of health are those basic needs and parts of your environment that impact your health, as well as your ability to access or use healthcare. Basic needs that can impact health are things such as secure and affordable housing, financial security, quality education, and stable access to healthy, nutritious food. Each of these factors affects how people live, learn, work, and play in their community.
 
Where data is available, trends in basic needs are divided by demographics such as age, gender, and race and ethnicity, in order to show how these basic needs and their effects may differ across groups. The dropdown menu below can be used to look through all available basic need indicators and choose one of interest. This menu also has a search bar if you are interested in looking for a particular topic. Clicking on one of the indicators below will take you to a Details page for that indicator where you can learn more about how the indicator is defined, see the source of the data, and view changes in the indicator over time.

Placing your mouse over the various icons within these indicators will provide additional information about how to interpret these numbers and images. More Information about interpretation is available in the Legend, accessible by clicking the "See the Legend" button on the left side of the page.
